Transfer Rumors 2013 – Manchester City Interested in Isco & Jesus Navas

With the news of Manuel Pellegrini joining Manchester City in the near future making their way and spreading, so does the desire to join the club and follow him among talented Spanish players, with Isco of Malaga and Jesus Navas being the first on the list.

Isco considers Pellegrini to be his “football father” and after leading Malaga to another European finish (sixth in the La Liga) and an impressive Champions League campaign that ended only in the quarterfinals thanks to an injury time goal from Dortmund, it looks like his time playing for small clubs is over.

Isco Malaga

He’s been targeted by quite a few clubs in the past, especially Manchester United & Manchester City before he broke out to be the star he is today. A season later, and his value seems to have doubled, which makes the clubs chasing him be the kind who aren’t afraid of spending €30-35 million. Malaga might be in financial trouble, but they have Isco “locked up” until 2016, which means they can afford to raise the asking price quite a bit after he scored 12 goals and added 6 assists this season.

Another name who is constantly linked to transfers away from the South of Spain but always remains put is Jesus Navas, who had a disappointing season with Sevilla both personally and with the team finishing only 9th. Navas has been part of better days with the club – Champions League and winning two UEFA Cup trophies, but recent seasons have been harder on the club, with Navas slowly realizing that if he wants to progress, he needs to let go of his fears, which have seen worse days, and push for a transfer.

The 27 year old winger is under contract until 2015, which means he won’t come cheaply, but like Isco, Navas would love to play under Pellegrini, who has earned himself a lot of fans among the La Liga players after the excellent job he has done with Malaga and Villarreal over the years. He’ll probably be valued around €15-20 million, and bring something City have been missing for quite some time – a natural wing player.
