It looks like Real Madrid are going through a lot of changes and it’s not even June yet, with one major player departing being Gonzalo Higuain, drawing quite a lot of interest from around the continent, but it looks like Italian champions Juventus are the team that will end up getting the player.

Manchester City, Arsenal and PSG have also been hoping to get their hands on him for a certain amount of money, but Higuain, according to his agent and AS, is 70% a done deal for Juve, who’ll pay €25 million for the Argentine striker.

Higuain hasn’t been forced to stay at Real Madrid because he hasn’t been scoring. He has scored 15 goals in 27 league matches this season and has 110 goals in 206 appearances over the last five seasons, finally becoming a starting player for Real. But there’s something about his big match ability that has always stood in the way of becoming a huge star for Real Madrid, while the inconsistency of his starting prospects, fighting for a place against Karim Benzema, has turned his attention away from the club.

During Jose Mourinho’s time at Real Madrid, he was never too pleased with both Higuain and Benzema, considering the two of them as two halves of the real striker he wanted to have, which should have the best of both players, although not a lot of strikers like that exist.

It seems Juventus’ main order of business this summer is finding a striker to make life a little bit easier for them, after their defending and quality in the midfield couldn’t be denied over the last couple of years. A striker, one they’re really confident in, hasn’t been found, despite the goals of Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella. Fernando Llorente is arriving for sure, and Higuain’s arrival might mean Juventus either intend to change tactics or insert real depth at every position at the club.
