The first team to take an interest in Luis Suarez last season was Bayern Munich, and even though some time has passed since that initial enquiry about the player, there’s a chance Liverpool might still go into business with the European champions, possibly even a deal that will bring back Arjen Robben to the Premier League.

The first name at the moment when it comes to Luis Suarez is Real Madrid. The Uruguayan striker himself said that he loves Liverpool, but if an offer comes from the Spanish giants, it’s going to be hard for him to say no. So Real Madrid haven’t made an official offer, but they’re using their usual media-based tactics of destabilizing the situation between a club and a player.

There is no release clause according to early reports, which means Liverpool, despite having a player who has said he would like to leave because the British press is after his blood, don’t really have to sell. Suarez is signed on for a very long time, and even though he’ll be missing a few games at the end of next season, Liverpool have no intention of selling him unless an offer of over €45 million comes along.

While Real Madrid, as other clubs as well, seem like bottomless pits of money spending on quality players, there’s a limit to everything, especially when it’s a player like Suarez, who might be one of the best strikers in the world, but doesn’t sell a brand as well as others might.

So if not cash, than a player to force Liverpool’s hand? Bayern Munich might have the solution. Liverpool have been lacking a true winger, especially on the right, for quite some time. With Arjen Robben’s future at the team being up in the air, it has been suggested that if Bayern offer a package of cash (lets say €15-20 million) plus Arjen Robben, or something along those lines, Liverpool might find it easier to accept.

At the moment, it doesn’t look like the Reds have any intention of selling Suarez. All their future plans on based on his scoring ability staying with them for quite some time. A player as good as him can’t be found or brought over probably, even if they do have the funds to make it happen. Even if they do get Arjen Robben offered to them, the man who won the Champions League with a crunch, it doesn’t seem like it’s worth for them to give up Suarez for.
