Transfer Rumors 2013 – Manchester City Trying to Sign Stephan El Shaarawy

It seems Manchester City are the first of the top Premier League teams to be handling their summer signings, even without a manager (officially yet), now moving on to attempt and bring over Stephan El Sharaawy from AC Milan.

Already signing Fernandinho and on the verge of completing their deal with Sevilla for Jesus Navas, the 2012 Premier League champions are attempting to bring over the 20 year old striker, who enjoyed a fantastic season in 2012-2013, scoring 16 league goals, but struggling to be noticed or productive the moment Mario Balotelli arrived.

Stephan El Shaarawy

Like most talented and premier players in Italy, El Shaarawi isn’t a youth product of the big clubs, instead spending his early footballing career with Legino and Genoa before being signed by Milan in 2011 for €15.5 million.

City, who are going to do some changing in the look of their strike force this summer (adding AND reducing) want a young and bright talent who has already appeared six times for the national team, scoring once, but might be falling a little bit off the radar after the arrival of Balotelli to the San Siro while also being the more dominant face with the national team.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan will request €40 million for the player, and City will not drag this one out like they did with their transfers last summer, almost each and every one of them a disappointing bust and waste of money, or at least overpaid for. El Shaarawi has scored 19 goals in 40 matches for Milan last season, including two in the Champions League.

El Shaarawi isn’t the only Milan player linked to moves this summer, with Kevin-Prince Boateng connected with a move to Chelsea after requesting a transfer, possibly due to the racism plaguing Italian football, and Robinho might also fall of the payroll and be sold to Santos.
