Transfer Rumors 2013 – Real Madrid Haven’t Made Any Offer For Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez Goal

It’s true that Luis Suarez wants to leave Liverpool because of the English press (and probably other things as well), but so far, Real Madrid, or anyone else for that matter, haven’t come forth with an offer.

Personally Suarez had a good start to the Confederations Cup, scoring a brilliant free kick goal against Spain, although Uruguay did lose 1-2. Suarez also reached 33 goals for the national team, equaling Diego Forlan’s record.

Despite all his talk with the Spanish and Uruguayan press, Suarez isn’t going anywhere at the moment. He hasn’t turned in a transfer request, and according to the Sun, the Daily Mail and the Mirror, the club would like Suarez to stop talking about wanting to leave and do something about it if he actually wishes his footballing future to be somewhere else.

Speaking to AS, Suarez confirmed that there have been no offers yet. It’s only him expressing his feelings to leave so far, but he knows Real Madrid are interested, and is hoping that they’ll match Liverpool’s demands for him, standing at £40 million at the moment.

Liverpool want to go on with their plans and continue signing players, but without knowing how much money will be available for more additions, and Suarez’ sale would bring in a lot of money, or not knowing whether or not they need a new star-striker position to fill, things might turn into a halt at some point.

At the moment it looks like Liverpool are in pursuit of two players in particular: Luis Alberto from Sevilla and Tiago Ilori from Sporting. Both clubs are trying to raise the final transfer fee. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are busier with slightly bigger names, but first they must hire a new manager, with the sale of Gonzalo Higuain something to attend to, while the issue of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo also keeping people awake at night.
