The only question to ask about the match between Uruguay and Tahiti is how many goals will be scored, as the goals of both sides from the Confederations Cup are completely different.

Tahiti scored one goal in their 6-1 opening loss to Nigeria, and they seem to be satisfied with that. Even the 10-0 drubbing against Spain didn’t take away from their charm, getting applauded by the Brazilian fans who watched the embarrassing moments in the stadium. Gain some international experience, which might help them somehow make the World Cup, is the best thing they could have gained from this tournament.

For Uruguay, the win against Nigeria almost cleared their way into the semifinal, as Diego Forlan showed he still has some quality football in his boots, surely winning his place in the lineup for another match, with Uruguay looking to end up scoring more than Nigeria did against the Pacific islanders, although Nigeria have a problem qualifying due to their last opponent, Spain.

It’ll come down to goal difference if Nigeria do manage to pull off a stunning result against the World & European champions, and that means Uruguay, in their three-striker formation, will look to forget about letting Tahiti walk away with their pride still intact, and simply pile on the pressure all over the pitch from the moment the whistle is blown.

Some might point out that the last time Uruguay played an Oceania rival, Australia, it ended in tears, missing out on the 2006 World Cup, but there’s no way to compare Tahiti to a side that has moved on to playing in Asia and has already qualified for the 2014 World Cup.
