Spain Italy 4-0

The second semifinal of the 2013 Confederations Cup is a clash between two European rivals with quite a few recent meetings between them, as Spain and Italy take on each other to see who joins Brazil in the final, and if you don’t have where to watch the match, we’re here to help.

Spain had a perfect group stage, finishing with a perfect nine out of nine, winning all three matches. They began with a 2-1 win over Uruguay, followed by an easy 10-0 demolition of Tahiti and finished with a 3-0 win against Nigeria.

Fernando Torres isn’t just Spain’s top scorer, but his 5 goals are a tournament best so far, buyoed by scoring four against the Pacific islanders, and adding one against a “real” rival in Nigeria. David Villa follows with 3 goals, all of them in the win against Tahiti.

Italy won their first two matches of the group stage – 2-1 against Mexico, followed by a 4-3 victory against Japan, giving themselves a lot of breathing room before the clash with Brazil, which they lost 4-2, promoted into the semifinal from second place.

Mario Balotelli is the team’s only player with two goals in the tournament, but he actually won’t be playing due to an injury against Spain and in the final if Italy reaches it.

The last time the two teams met in a competitive match, Spain enjoyed a brisk 4-0 victory (the Euro 2012 final), with goals from David Silva, Jordi Alba, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata.
