NBA Rumors – Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz & Denver Nuggets in Trade for Randy Foye & Andre Iguodala

Randy Foye, Andre Iguodala

Despite basically agreeing to join the Golden State Warriors, Andre Iguodala could still come via a sign & trade that both the Warriors and the Denver Nuggets would benefit greatly from (in terms of finances), involving the Utah Jazz and their player Randy Foye as well.

Basically, this is how it’ll go down: Iguodala will sign with the Denver Nuggets on a four-year, $48 million deal, which would create a $12 million trade exception for the Nuggets, having a full year to make use of it.

The Utah Jazz will then sign & trade Randy Foye to the Denver Nuggets on a three-year, $9 million deal, as the Nuggets didn’t have any cap-space for making that kind of free agency move, while the Jazz weren’t looking to bring back Foye.

As for the Warriors, after already sending the expiring contracts of Andris Bierdins and Richard Jefferson to the Utah Jazz, they’ll be sending over another second round draft pick to go along with the Warriors’ ’14, ’17 first round picks, 2 future 2nd round picks. This also gives the Warriors some cap flexibility in order to sign their first-round draft pick, Serbian Nemanja Nedovic, while keeping their mid-level exception unused.

Foye, a 7th overall pick in the 2006 draft, has been moved around quite a lot since entering the NBA, beginning his career next to Kevin Garnett with the Minnesota Timberwolves, before moving on to the Wizards, Clippers and playing last season for the Jazz.

The combo-guard (better as a shooting guard) averaged 10.8 points per game last season while shooting an excellent 41% from beyond the arc, playing in all 82 games and starting in 72 of them. He’ll give the Nuggets yet another wing player who can knock down the three-point shot, but is likely going to play a lot less than the 27.4 minutes a night he had for the Jazz last season.
