Clement Grenier Scores the Best No-Look Goal in History

There have been goals in the past of players having their back to the goal, but nothing quite like what Clement Grenier of Lyon did against Real Madrid, scoring with a one-touch shot off a cross, obviously making it the best goal we’ve seen this preseason, and probably the best we’ll see in any competition all season.

The match between Lyon and Real Madrid ended in a 2-2 draw, with Grenier and Lisandro Lopez opening the scoring for the French side who historically do pretty well against Real Madrid, while Alvaro Morata and Casemiro scored twice in the final 12 minutes to equalize.

But there was no doubt that after Grenier scored his goal in the 20th minute, the best moment of the match wouldn’t be beaten by anything else. With all the comparisons Grenier draws, the Yoann Gourcuff one comes quite handy. Gourcuff, at his and Bordeaux’s best a few years ago, scored a wonder goal against PSG. For Grenier’s sake, lets hope his career doesn’t stall and fail to advance like it has for Gourcuff over the last few years.
