Referees have been more and more strict about lunging with your foot going forward, and yet horror tackles keep happening, like the one Miku of Getafe delivered to the knee of Joey Sleegers of Feyenoord in a friendly match between the sides, walking away with nothing but a yellow card, while Sleegers seems to have been lucky to walk away without an injury.
Known for being one of the more aggressive players on the pitch at all times, the Venezuelan striker showed complete intent on hurting the young Dutch midfielder as he lunged forward with his boot at Sleegers knee, not looking too shocked about the outcome. Friendly matches don’t usually bring out the violent side of players, but Getafe already had players sent off in a match against AZ this summer, which makes Miku’s challenge and reaction a little less surprising.
In the match itself, Getafe lost 3-1, with Lex Immers, Wesley Verhoek and an own goal from Moya helping out the Dutch side; Jaime Gavilan scored for Getafe.
