Hulk Gets Sent Off After Shoving a Referee

In another example of how unhappy Hulk is with Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia came in his club’s 3-1 win over Volga this weekend, as the Brazilian took two free kicks despite the referee ordering him to wait on it, resulting in a second yellow card, a sending off and Hulk giving the referee a shove.

After four matches Zenit have played this season, the want-away player has yet to score a goal, and there just might be some of his frustration coming out in the form of antagonizing the referee, which never ends well for the player.

Hulk refused to leave the pitch after getting his marching orders, creating some sort of ruckus. Luckily for him, the ref didn’t fall over on his back and made more of a deal from this one, but there’s a good chance that this will lead to a long suspension for the Brazilian international, who has already missed two of the first four games of the season.

The problem for Hulk is his price. Zenit overpaid for him last season, but aren’t in the business of letting players leave them cheaply. Chelsea have shown some interest, but aren’t willing to pay anything remotely close to €50 million or whatever the Russians are demanding, leaving Hulk on a team he doesn’t want to play for, without the option of leaving for now.
