It’s rare to find something noteworthy about the Tercera División (fourth tier) in Chile, but once in a while a gem, like Gerardo Henriquez of Quilicura scoring a very late winner with an audacious Rabona chip, breaks through and becomes more than just a local news item.
In a match between Quilicura and Colchagua, Henriquez broke through the offside trap on the muddy and rain-soaked pitch. He didn’t have the best of angles at goal, and was in a position that seemed a bit more reasonable to cross from than actually take a shot.
And yet Henriquez decided to show the small crowd in attendance what a skillful player he is, pulling off an amazing Rabona shot, which would have probably been declared as the greatest ever if it would have happened in a more famous league, giving his team a dramatic 2-1 win.
