After a few days of rest, the Real Madrid, Gareth Bale and Tottenham saga is up & running again, as reports in Spain suggest that a huge offer has been launched for the Welsh star, including Fabio Coentrao in an cash+exchange deal.
This has been the tactic all along, and it eventually, it might work. Rumors coming out from Spanish tabloids that are fed stories by Real Madrid, picked up in England and deteriorating the relationship between Bale, who is completely furious with Tottenham for not giving in to Real Madrid’s demands, and believes he has been lied to by his own club.
It’s not quite clear if Real Madrid have actually made any offers, and Tottenham think that there’s a chance that the Spanish giants don’t actually have the money to match these insane demands, that are around £100 million.
According to AS, Real Madrid are now offering a deal worth €110 million in total, which includes Fabio Coentrao in it, with Real Madrid valuing him at €30 million. According to the Spanish media outlet, the argument between the two sides is about the value of Coentrao, and how big of a chuck from the deal he’s supposed to be taking.
Gareth Bale is refusing to train or play with the club, but with the league opening in a few days, things might change. It seems Tottenham are quite calm about this whole ordeal, but they are semi-listening to offers, which don’t even require a direct link between the clubs. All Daniel Levy and Andre Villas-Boas need to do is pick up the paper, and see what today’s market value is.
How does this end? Impossible to know. It seems that every time Real Madrid allegedly have the right sum in their hands to force the move, Tottenham come up with a new demand, be it more money or a different player in the exchange deal. In the impossible formula which has Real Madrid probably wanting to buy but mostly unsettle the situation, Gareth Bale wanting to leave and Tottenham not inclined to sell, there is no solution that makes everyone happy, including the one that has Real Madrid purchase Bale.
