Bacary Sagna Quite Lucky to Avoid Breaking His Neck

One of the scariest moments s Arsenal lost at home 1-3 to Aston Villa was Bacary Sagna falling badly after making an aerial challenge against Christian Benteke, landing badly on his neck. He did get up from it, but was substituted, and his participation next week, with the Gunners in the middle of a huge injury crisis, is doubtful.

The French right back, who missed a lot of action last season with three separate injuries, started for Arsenal in the season-opener, even though many rumors are still linking him with other clubs after six years with the Gunners.

As he rose to try and head a ball, he collided with the standing Christian Benteke and flipped over his shoulder. Sagna didn’t have time to defend the fall with his hands, instead landing in the worst possible way, having his neck bend and break his fall.
