PSG Transfer Rumors – Interested in Signing Pedro Rodriguez From Barcelona

Pedro Rodriguez

Never trust what Marca report, because it’s always for Real Madrid and against Barcelona. Sometimes, however, they do hit the jackpot with an assumption, and possibly the offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Pedro of Barcelona is a genuine thing.

Taking a look at the PSG squadron of attackers, the move doesn’t make sense. The price, of €40 million, also doesn’t make much sense considering Pedro’s form for the last couple of seasons. From one of the best wingers in the world, an injury has slowed him down severely in terms of his attacking contribution, scoring only 14 goals over his last 60 league matches.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani, Jeremy Menez, Lucas Moura, Javier Pastore. Even if Pedro would be looking for an exit (saying he’s pleased to be in Barcelona, but flattered by the interest), there doesn’t seem to be much of a chance to get some minutes in PSG, who play with two strikers most of the time and without natural wingers.

At Barcelona, for now, Pedro is starting, but it seems that the day for Neymar to start showing up in the first XI is soon, and maybe already due. Pedro has made way for him twice, but it’ll be him or Alexis who pay the price for the arrival of the Brazilian.

Once again – it’s hard to see anything happening in this direction. Barcelona don’t have time to bring in someone with the qualities and experience of Pedro if they actually do sell him, and Pedro doesn’t have much of an incentive to play in Paris except for a better salary, probably.

The only indication of this making sense is some sort of club feud between the owners of PSG and the president of Barcelona, and the rumor is somewhat of an attempt to unsettle a key player on the team. However, it’s hard to see how this actually creates too many problems for Barcelona.
