Real Madrid Transfer Rumors – Last Attempt to Sign Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez 2013

Even with the arrival of the most expensive football in history, Luis Suarez is still someone Real Madrid haven’t given up on, and are going to try and make one last attempt at signing the Liverpool striker, hoping that a substantial bid from a club that isn’t in the Premier League will be enough to convince Liverpool to sell.

According to AS, Real Madrid will offer £45 million to Liverpool, who have stated more than once that they’re not willing to sell the player for anything less than £50 million. However, a late spending spree from the Reds on Sakho, Victor Moses and Tiago Ilori might cause them to look for some money back, not to mention that their latest winning streak might convince them that Suarez isn’t someone they need to hang on to at any cost.

However, Liverpool haven’t had any offers until now from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants don’t operate that way. They wait till the situation is ripe and then make one offer that doesn’t get rejected, waiting for the player to be unsettled enough so there won’t be much of a problem.

But Liverpool haven’t been expecting an offer from Real for the player, and that might mean they’re not really in the mood to sell the Uruguayan, even if he has declared plenty of times he wants to leave the club, first for “family & personal reasons” and then for the money-champions league reasons everyone knew were actually behind it all.

While the offer coming from a non-Premier League club does improve the chances of Liverpool considering a bit more seriously to actually let go of Suarez, nothing from the club’s behavior this summer indicates they’re willing to part ways from their best player, and Real Madrid might be wiser if they try and spend their money elsewhere.
