Real Madrid Transfer Rumors – Still Want to Sign Luis Suarez

During the summer, Real Madrid didn’t make any official offers for Luis Suarez, they only did what they do best: unsettle a player by showing interest through the press. While they failed to land the player this time, it doesn’t mean that they won’t be approaching the Liverpool striker in the future.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool can expect more interest and pressure from Real Madrid (and probably other clubs as well) pointed at the Uruguayan striker, hoping to make the most of his desire to enjoy some Champions League football.

Luis Suarez

Liverpool have made an impressive, 3-from-3 start to the Premier League season, even without Suarez playing a single minutes, still serving a suspension (three matches left on it) that dates back to last season. And yet no one actually sees them as title contenders just yet; too soon to put them in the same line as Chelsea, United, Manchester City and maybe even Arsenal and Tottenham.

Carlo Ancelotti seems interested in Suarez (rumor has it he’s not too hot on Benzema), and the bonus that comes from signing the Uruguayan in January is that he can play in the Champions League, if Real Madrid are still in the competition. It’s very rare to have a player of this caliber become available with the eligibility attached.

Liverpool won’t actually be willing to sell, unless Suarez does poorly in the next few months, or the feeling of optimism at Anfield is replaced with the usual depression and disappointment. While Liverpool don’t want to sell Suarez for anything less than £50 million which means they don’t want to sell him at all, if things go wrong from the moment he comes back their stance on the matter is going to change.
