Being one of Sevilla’s brightest young talents it’s no surprise to see Jairo make the highlight reel with some of his performances on the football pitch, but his brilliant dribbling sequence before an assist to Carlos Bacca in the Europa League win over Freiburg might end up as the set up of the season for many.
The 20-year old right winger helped his team clinch their home win over the German visitors, who were already playing with 10 men by that time (90th minute) and down 1-0. Jairo controlled a ball in the middle of the pitch, and the show began.
He used a clever drag back to beat one defender, before side stepping a sliding tackle. From that point, he simply beat three defenders with speed, putting himself in an easy one on one situation, facing Oliver Baumann. Instead of improving his goal tally this season to three in all competitions, he did the “right” thing and made all of his work get finished off by Carlos Bacca, getting himself an Assistazo and not a Golzao.
