Manchester United Transfer Rumors – Chicharito Wants Out

It’s always been about being coming off the bench for Javier Hernandez at Manchester United, but this season has been an extreme case of being ignored by the team’s new manager. Chicharito can’t sit on the bench forever, and more of the same lack of activity he’s seeing early this season could lead him to try and leave the club.

The best scorer per minute in the Premier League last season has seen his share of bench time under Alex Ferguson, but it was always peppered with time in the lineup and generous minutes coming off the bench, in the league and Champions League as well.

Under David Moyes, who obviously needs more time to get to know his players, Hernandez seems like someone he’s willing to give up on, similar to his treatment of Shinji Kagawa. He has so far played five times in all competitions for Manchester United, starting twice, and playing a total of 168 minutes this season. He has one goal so far, the winner in the 1-0 win over Liverpool in the League Cup.

Talking to Mexican TV station Deportes Telemundo, Hernandez didn’t clearly state he wants to leave, but despite being happy with Manchester United, he might be looking for a way out if David Moyes continues to use him sparingly at best. At 25, Hernandez is no longer some inexperienced youngster just arriving from Mexico. He has won two championships with the team and has been to a Champions League final. He has scored 51 goals in 121 matches for the club, and there are plenty of other teams around Europe willing to take him on.

Juventus have been a team constantly mentioned with Hernandez over the last couple of years, while Atletico Madrid showed some interest in him last summer. The important thing for Chicharito won’t be just leaving Manchester United and have a fresh start, but actually finding a team willing to give him a starting spot, as it seems he’s tired of being a man for special assignments.
