Saër Sène Has Horrific Ankle Breaking Injury

Luck just doesn’t seem to follow Saër Sène of the New England Revolution, who broke his ankle in their most recent MLS clash against the Montreal Impact, making it a second serious injury for the French striker in less than two years.

The last time he was out for a very long time was in 2012 after tearing a cruciate ligament in his right knee, ending his season. Against the Impact, in a match that ended 1-0 in favor of New England, Sene had his unfortunate injury strike him as he was making his way into the box.

He was caught between two players, one blocking him with his shoulder and the other sliding to his feet. There was no malicious foul, but there was enough contact and the bad one at that to twist Sene’s left ankle as he was falling down. He fell, and his legs straightened out, it was clear that his ankle was awfully twisted, calling on for the medical staff to take him off the field, while players on the pitch were holding their heads, not doing well with the gruesome sight, that should keep Sene out for the rest of what’s left of this season and possibly a lot longer.
