Adam Lallana, Steven Davis and Morgan Schneiderlin were fantastic in the middle of the pitch, having a one-man advantage at almost every moment against a tired Michael Carrick and the always disappointing Marouane Fellaini, who Moyes should know isn’t very effective as a holding midfielder, something he hasn’t played for Everton over the last couple of years.

Lallana was the one who helped Lovren score the equalizing goal, as he blocked David de Gea during the corner kick, preventing the Spanish goalkeeper from reacting to the action in the box. For all the central defenders Alex Ferguson has purchased over the last few years, none of them seem good enough when compared with Nemanja Vidic, who is sorely missed each time he can’t play.
