Arsenal FC Transfer Rumors – Interested in Signing Juan Cuadrado

Juan Cuadrado

Colombian football is on the rise, but it’s not just about heading to the World Cup. Players from country are thriving all around Europe and are becoming quite desirable transfer targets, such as Juan Cuadrado of Fiorentina, who might be making his way to Arsenal sooner or later if he keeps up his excellent form.

According to Sky Italia, Dick Law, related to Arsenal transfers, has been spotted scouting the winger (although he can do much more than that) in Fiorentina’s two most recent wins against Juventus and Chievo. In a total of 10 matches for Fiorentina this season – in the league and in Europe, he has scored six goals and added two assists.

Cuadrado scored twice for Fiorentina in the win over Chievo, turning the spotlight on him as La Viola once again seem like one of the more enjoyable teams to watch in the Serie A following their impressive comeback win over Juventus, which had a lot to do with Cuardado’s speed on the counter attack late in the match.

Arsenal are thought to be looking for players in the January Transfer Window or further than that. The problem with Cuadrado, who is co-owned by Udinese and Fiorentina, will be his price, which could come to €30 million in order to get both team to accept the offer, although for someone so versatile who seems to be peaking at 25, it might be worth it. However, there’s a good chance Arsenal will try and see a bit more than just a good start to the season from him.

Cuadrado can play in almost any position in the midfield, although he is usually used on the right side either as an attacking winger, but can also be used in a much more defensive role when necessary. Just like for La Viola, he is used all across the pitch when he plays for Colombia as well, with his stamina, speed and passing abilites making him suitable for plenty of roles depending on the opposition and the situation.
