It doesn’t matter who is the manager at Manchester United – the club loves to sign teenagers, potential wonderkids, in hope of hitting the jackpot. People still haven’t calmed down about Adnan Januzaj, and it seems there’s already a new one on the list – 18 year old Karol Linetty of Lech Poznan.

The Polish midfielder has already been described as the new Luka Modric, which means he’s a rather effective and clever central midfielder, who can play both in defensive or more attacking roles. He has already played a few times for the Poland U-21 side and has been in Lech’s lineup since the midseason last year.

He doesn’t score goals (still without a single goal for Poznan) and isn’t usually involved in attacking plays. He’s much more of a build from behind type of player, and others have compared him to Marco Verratti of Paris Saint-Germain and Italy, possibly because of his small stature.

Clubs around Europe, not just Manchester United, are already viewing him as one of the best youth prospects in football right now, which means offers are going to start coming very soon in hope to snapping him up by January. According to the Mirror, Manchester United hope they can sign him for £4 million, but we’ve seen how under-bidding worked for them this summer.

For comparison, Robert Lewandowski left Lech Poznan to Borussia Dortmund at the age of 21 for a similar fee; £4.2 million. However, when bigger names are involved in the hunt for the player, a club has a tendency to raise the price a little bit. Dortmund are probably a better team than Manchester United at the moment, but Premier League clubs usually cause for the selling teams to get greedy, even if its Manchester United, not known for spending money easily in recent years.
