Are the Philadelphia 76ers for real? A test against a Western conference team is a perfect opportunity for everyone to find out, as the Splash brothers of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson try and end the perfect start led on by Evan Turner and Michael Carter-Williams.

The 76ers have beaten the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls on their 3-0 start this season, with Michael Carter-Williams looking a lot better than he did in college. The defense and athleticism were always there, but who knew he was such a gifted scorer? Having such a young team, the Sixers are simply trying to outrun everyone before anyone catches on to their trick. Carter-Williams is averaging 20.7 points, 9 assists and 4.3 steals per game so far this season, something that if he manages to hold onto till the rest of the season will make him in unique in NBA history.

Evan Turner is a player many talked about being a trade asset for the Sixers this season. However, with such a start, it makes more sense simply building the team with him. Turner averages 23 points per game so far, seemingly benefiting from not having Jrue Holiday playing next to him.

The Warriors have lost their only away game this season, falling in Los Angeles to the Clippers, but have been looking excellent on offense most of the time. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are in exactly the same mode they were last season, which is shooting as much as possible, hitting 50.7% of their three point shots and combining for nearly nine baskets from beyond the arc each night.

Andre Iguodala makes his second return to Philadelphia after already playing there in Nuggets uniform last season. He is averaging only 8.7 points per game, but his role on this team isn’t to score, but to add some quality defending on the wings, and give the Warriors a chance to have another ball handler, enabling Curry to move more without the ball.

Another surprising player for the Sixers has been center Spencer Hawes, who is averaging 19.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. It’ll be interesting to see how he and Thaddeus Young handle the frontcourt of David Lee and Andrew Bogut in this game.

Prediction – The Warriors aren’t much of a road team, but are more than capable of running alongside the Sixers. At some point, this streak Philly are on has to end, and it makes sense that a team that isn’t struggling with fatigue, age or piecing new things together will be the one that ends it for them.
