Despite the quarterback problems and the issues with their defense, the Philadelphia Eagles are tied for the lead in the NFC East, but might be considered favorites considering all the injury problems the Dallas Cowboys have. The most remarkable thing might be where they’ve picked up their five wins: All on the road, while losing all four home games, becoming the first team to be at .500 in week 10 without a home win.

Any real explanation? Maybe it’s about the quality of opponents they’ve faced so far. They’ve beaten the Redskins (3-6), Giants (3-6), Bucs (1-8), Raiders (3-6) and the Packers (5-4, but without Aaron Rodgers) on their away games, losing only once away from this season; 52-20 to the Denver Broncos.

At home? A loss to the San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants. Slightly harder, but not by much, offering no real solution to their inability to win at home. Pressure from the not so supportive home fans might be something to do with it, but right now it just seems like a weird coincidence that looks impressive when taking a brief check of historical events.

Just like the Eagles’ first home game of the season being the decider of the Super Bowl champions – the last four played against the Eagles in their first Philly game of the season: The Saints, Packers, Giants and Ravens. This year the Chargers won there 33-30, but it doesn’t look like there’s a very good chance they’ll make the playoffs, even if they are tied for 8th at 4-5. Being with the two best teams in the NFL (possibly) does that to you.
