A night of surprises and of getting back on track – Basel stunned Chelsea with a 1-0 win, although it won’t stop the Europa League champions from making the next round, while Ajax beat Barcelona 2-1, giving them an excellent prospect to make it into the next round if they manage to beat Milan on the final matchday.
The Italian giants going through some rough times remained in second place after a very impressive 3-0 win over Celtic, while Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Napoli meant they are once again in second place and primed to join Arsenal in the next round.
Basel 1 Chelsea 0: Considering Basel already won in London, this shouldn’t be such a surprise. Chelsea came to get a draw and played terribly, falling to a goal from the fantastic Mohamed Salah.
Steaua 0 Schalke 0: A boring draw in Bucharest, which puts Schalke in risk of not making it into the next round unless they manage to beat Basel on the final match.

Dortmund 3 Napoli 1: A return to normal for the German team after too many defeats, gaining an advantage in the race for the second ticket to the next round. Marco Reus scored very early from the penalty spot, later joined by goals from Kuba and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Lorenzo Insigne scored the only goal for the visitors in a very poor performance.
Arsenal 2 Marseille 0: Not a real fair fight between the group leaders, very close to clinching their spot in the next round, with a win over the worst team in the competition this season, losing for a fifth consecutive time. Jack Wilshere scored twice in his best match of the season, while Mesut Ozil’s poor form continues, missing a penalty kick.

Zenit 1 Atletico Madrid 1: A match Atletico Madrid had no reason to give 100% in saw them score both goals. Adrian Lopez scored the opening goal, but an awkward Toby Alderweireld own goal, with Thibaut Courtois being the one deserving the blame, made it a draw.
Porto 1 Austria Wien 1: A very surprising result. Jackson Martinez scored the equalizing goal after Roman Kienast scored a stunning opener, whihc means Porto are trailing Zenit heading into the final match.

Celtic 0 Milan 3: Maybe this is how a season turns around for a team in crisis. A clinical and efficient display from Milan, led by goals from the fantastic Kaka, Cristian Zapata and Mario Balotelli, remaining in second place and leaving Celtic without a chance to make it even into the Europa League.
Ajax 2 Barcelona 1: Probably the biggest European win for Ajax in a very long time, taking a two goal lead from Thulani Serero and Danny Hoesen. A red card to Joel Veltman helped Xavi bring Barcelona back into the match, but it wasn’t enough to avoid the team’s first loss this season.
