In a season that’s about the Miami Heat battling with the immense expectations of the hard-to-achieve three-peat while trying not to feel bored, arrogant and complacent against some of the weaker opposition they encounter, it’s good to have someone like Chris Bosh, who doesn’t mind hiding in the shadows until it’s time for him to step up and assist LeBron James or Dwyane Wade with a barrage of clutch three pointers to spark and cap off a fourth quarter comeback.

Bosh finished with 22 points, hitting three consecutive three pointers as the Miami Heat came back from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter against the improving Charlotte Bobcats, eventually coming away with a 99-98 win. The Bobcats did have a shot in the end; Kemba Walker, with pretty much nothing left on the clock, got three shots from the line as the Heat were up by four points. He made the first two and planned on banking the third shot. Instead, he scored it, denying the Bobcats a chance of scoring through a tip-in.

LeBron James was pretty much on his own in the fray for most of the game, scoring 26 points. It seemed like the Miami Heat started moving the ball and spacing the floor only when they had no choice, looking quite stagnant and predictable for most of the game. Their second unit was one big disappointment, considering how crucial it is for the Heat to get as much as possible from their bench, combining to score only 14 points on 6-of-19 from the field.

Dwyane Wade was quite ordinary with 17 points on 6-of-10 from the field, recording two blocks and becoming the all-time leader in rejections for players who are 6’4 or less.

The Miami Heat are looking like a team with stars that sometimes feel like they don’t want to do everything possible in order to win a game. It’s not like the Bobcats got too much from their subs (Ramon Sessions led their bench with 10 points; Kemba Walker was doing most of the work, scoring 27 points. Still, without anyone of the big three taking responsibility at each stage of the game, the Heat will continue to find themselves in difficult spots against teams that shouldn’t pose such a big problem.

LeBron James – I don’t think we did anything bad in the game. We defended. They hit some tough shots. We didn’t turn the ball over, I think we had only 14 turnovers, they didn’t have a bunch of offensive rebounds, they didn’t have many fast-break points. Just one of those games where you’ve got to gut it out. And we’ll take it.
