Arsenal FC Transfer Rumors – Trying to Sign Tonny Sanabria

Tonny Sanabria

A 17-year old Paraguayan forward named Arnaldo Antonio Sanabria Ayala, usually known as Tonny Sanabria, playing for the Barcelona B squad this season, has been on quite a few shortlists for top teams around Europe recently. Like in other cases, Premier League clubs might have the edge, with Arsenal hoping they can secure his signing this very week.

According to the Spanish Sport, Roma were quite close to completing a deal for the player until Arsenal entered the picture, and now they’re waiting for a confirmation from the player that he prefers playing for the Premier League leaders than in the Serie A in order to send in Dick Law, known as the Arsenal transfer fixer, to finish up the details with Barcelona.

Sanabria himself is reported to be keen on playing for something more than a B team, but it’s hard to see how a teenager like him, despite already making three appearances for the national team, is going to find himself in the lineup or even in the Arsenal squad. He has scored only one goal in 7 matches so far this season for Barcelona’s B team, usually coming off the bench. Right now, being a rotational player on a second division team is the best he can ask for.

The report suggests that Sanabria has already visited London to be impressed with the facilities, but still isn’t sure whether or not to sign with Arsenal or Roma. Knowing that in the future it might be easier to break into the lineup with the Italian club makes him prefer staying with Barcelona where the competition is usually quite fierce or choosing Arsenal, which also presents a more difficult challenge than the Rome club.
