West Ham Have More Goalless Draws Than The Entire Bundesliga

In one of the least surprising statistical revelations of 2013, we find out that West Ham are quite boring to watch. How boring? With five goalless draws this season already, the Hammers have surpassed all Bundesliga teams since the start of the season, managing only four among them.

West Ham have scored 13 league goals in 16 matches, winning only three times. They might have the best goal difference among teams looking to be involved in the relegation battle (-6), but they’re only one point above the relegation zone, and only three teams – Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Hull City have scored fewer goals.

Three of the 0-0 draws have come away from home – At Southampton (not a bad result), at Newcastle (not terrible as well) and at Swansea City, not the team with the best defense in the Premier League. Recently, they’ve dropped points at home in 0-0 draws against Aston Villa and this weekend against Sunderland.

In the Bundesliga, we’ve seen Mainz draw with Monchengladbach this weekend, Hertha Berlin and Augsburg on November 30, on November 8 between Hannover and Braunschwieg and the first one came in a match between Werder Bremen and Freiburg.

The team’s top scorer this season has been Ravel Morrison, scoring 3 goals. Only two other players – Ricardo Vaz Te and Joe Cole, have scored more than one goal.
