Give the Miami Heat games against their Florida rivals, the Orlando Magic, and you might see quite a few NBA record broken. LeBron James didn’t really need to do much as Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh took center stage, leading to a comfortable 110-94 win.

It’s the eighth consecutive win for the Heat over the Magic and the third this season. In all of their games the Heat have scored over 100 points and haven’t allowed more than 99. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh both scored 20 points, while James was fourth on the team’s scoring list, adding 15 points with 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

Not that it was much of a surprise against the 10-23 Magic, poor even in Eastern conference standards. A good game offensively from some of their players like Jameer Nelson scoring 21, Tobias Harris adding 17, Arron Afflalo and Victor Oladipo both scoring 16 points. However, without Vucevic and any shred of defense, there wasn’t much hope, as the Magic are now 1-15 this season when they allow opponents to reach 100 points.

Rashard Lewis had his most productive game in Heat uniform, scoring 18 points on 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. The ball movement from the Heat was relentless and very unselfish (23 assists), which benefits someone like Lewis, who can’t do much these days but hit open shots, doing quite well against his former team. Lewis was hardly used by the Heat in the postseason last year, but he knows that on such a team, there’s always a chance waiting for a player like him around the corner.

We’re a veteran team and I’m used to it after playing last year. You just have to be mentally ready to go when your name is called upon,. With the type of team we have you might play 20 minutes and you might play 5 minutes. You’ve just got to be ready.

For example, Lewis didn’t play at all in the loss to the Warriors, and is averaging 18.8 minutes with 4.8 points per game this season. He was on the floor for 31 minutes in the win over the Magic.

It was fun watching Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade teaming up for some great plays together, while James seemed to be a bit further from the action, orchestrating things from the outside, letting his teammates grab a lot more of the attention.

It seemed like after the game was finished, more people were interested in hearing what the Heat had to say about their next opponents, the Toronto Raptors, maybe the hottest team in the Eastern conference right now. Nothing about the Heat’s defense, changes in rotation or ball movement. When you’re that good for so long, it gets a little boring to some people.

They’ve been playing very good basketball. We mentioned that about the Eastern Conference. It is way too premature to figure out where teams are. There are teams that have higher ceilings, and they’re one of them. We know they have a lot of confidence and have had some big games and big wins on the road. … We are going to have to make sure we let them know what is really important for us at home and what a true champion plays like.
