The latest failure in a seemingly very long list since David Moyes took over the Manchester United job has sparked a new flurry of memes depicting the Scottish manager as someone who isn’t really sure of what he’s doing, and generally one huge mistake made by Alex Ferguson.
Manchester United are now out of the FA Cup third round after losing at home to Swansea, just another loss at home which is becoming quite the norm after previous defeats to Newcastle, Everton, West Brom and Tottenham, and find themselves in seventh place, four points behind fifth, which leads to the Europa League.
Everything changes quickly in the Premier League – two wins for United might bring them back into the Champions League picture, but when the manager is basically saying that he has a bad squad left to him by the man who chose him, there’s not that much room for hope that this season is going to end with at least a top 4 finish.
According to reports in England, the club is willing to give Moyes around £200 million to spend in order to improve the current crop of players he has. Maybe it’s a subtle hint for him to start thinking about players in January and go against everything he has said so far, but maybe it’s a show of faith in the manager to go forth with his rebuilding or retooling process during the summer.
Despite what seems to be a disastrous season in Manchester United standards so far and despite being made into a laughing stock, Moyes doesn’t seem to be lacking any confidence that he’ll turn things around, and it doesn’t look like the front office is worried about his suitability all of a sudden.
