It seems the entire fan base of Mexico has gone crazy with their love for Guillermo Ochoa who put on the best individual performance of this World Cup so far to help Mexico secure a goalless draw against Brazil, resulting in memes and jokes all heralding the fantastic goalkeeper.

One of the interesting things about Ochoa is that he doesn’t have a team right now. He was relegated with Ajaccio this past season, and will now surely have plenty of teams tracking him following his superb performance, and with a bonus of signing him for free.

Despite Ochoa’s heroics, this wasn’t just Brazil attacking all match. Mexico were a fair and equal rival for most of the afternoon, that is until the final 25 minutes. Julio Cesar had to work quite a bit in stopping long range shots as well.

At least for one day, Ochoa seems to be a national hero and the star of the tournament. He has yet to conceded a goal and made a couple of big saves against Cameroon in the opening match as well. However, if Mexico keep allowing teams to create chances so deep inside their box, there’s only so much their goalkeeper can do to stop it.
