Sporting Braga finished a club best second last season in the Portuguese league, and began their 2009-2010 Champions League qualifying campaign with more of the same splendid form, defeating Scottish runner up Celtic in the first leg of the third round of qualifying with a convincing 3-0 win. Brazilian striker Matheus scored an incredible free kick in the 87th minute to seal the convincing win, beating Lukasz Zaluska from over 30 yards.
