The world of MMA and UFC isn’t for those who are shy of dirty words, aggression and an explosion of testosterone. Even outside the cage, just a pre-fight hype talk between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier turned into an ugly affair filled with death threats and other kind and gentle words.
The two will clash in UFA 178 for Jones’ Light Heavyweight championship, in what should be a very entertaining night of fighting in Las Vegas. Cormier, the challenger, is undefeated (15-0) since beginning his MMA career in 2009. His last fight was in UFC 173 back in May, beating Dan Henderson with a third round technical submission thanks to a rear-naked choke. It was his second fight at Light heavyweight.
Jones is 20-1 throughout his six year career, successfully defending his Light Heavyweight title eight times in a row since beating Mauricio Rua in 2011. His last win was a unanimous decision in UFC 172, beating Glover Teixeira in Baltimore.
The two got into a brawl during a promotional event for a fight. Lets hope that their war of fists and words isn’t going to mean there’s nothing left for the fight next month.
