Despite putting on a bruising performance to beat the Green Bay Packers 36-16, the defending Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks are the ones mostly made fun of in the day-after memes, with too many people focused on the Seahawks seemingly gaining too many fans too quickly.

The focus should be something else: How badly the Packers’ offense did in the second and third quarters and how the Packers defense is once again looking like it’s going to make life very difficult for Rodgers, who’ll have to be pressured into putting up a lot of points.

As for Seahawks fans? They’re doing their job, giving their team probably the best home field advantage in the NFL. The newcomers who mostly show up on the internet might be what others love to call bandwagoners, but everyone has to start somewhere.

Just the first game, remember that. The Packers won’t be at the bottom of the NFC North all season long. The Seahawks won’t have things go so smoothly in every game, but for a season opener, things couldn’t have gone much better.
