NBA Rumors – Several Teams Interested in Signing Miloš Teodosić

Milos Teodosic

The performance of Miloš Teodosić in the 2014 Basketball World Cup he renewed the interest in him among NBA teams, with the Memphis Grizzlies being the last franchise to try and sign him. The Serbian point guard, currently with CSKA Moscow, isn’t making it easy for anyone trying to sign him.

Many are comparing Teodosić, who is averaging 14 points through eight games in this tournament, including a combined 47 in the quarter & semi finals wins over Brazil and France, to Dejan Bodiroga, another Serbian basketball star, or more accurately legend, who might just be the best player over the last 20 years to never play in the NBA.

Teodosić isn’t in a hurry. Maybe he’d like to play in the NBA, but he’s not willing to start from scratch. Big stars in Europe make good money, and he’s looking to earn at least $3 million a season if anyone is willing to give him that kind of contract, and he wants a multi-year deal. There are six teams at the moment capable of giving him that kind of deal: Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Maybe a lot will be decided once he plays against the United States, facing off against the American team in the final of the tournament. He is signed for three more years with CSKA Moscow, renewing his contract before the tournament began after a few months of speculation on whether or not he’d look to leave the team along with Nenad Krstic and head coach Ettora Messina.
