Match Highlights – AC Milan vs Juventus

The difference between contenders and pretenders was revealed, at least for now, as Juventus dominated at the San Siro, leading to a 1-0 win over AC Milan through a clever Carlos Tevez goal thanks to a smart assist from Paul Pogba, leaving the defending champions perfect since the start of the season.

After winning their first two matches while scoring eight goals some thought AC Milan have bounced back from a rough time last season. However, all the previous exciting matches weren’t enough to prepare them for facing their former manager, Massimiliano Allegri, who seems to be quite comfortable with his new team, stepping into a solid situation unlike the mess Milan have been in for quite some time.

Juventus dominated possession and were the more dangerous team, as Milan neglected the attempts to try and dominate the match in the second half, realizing that counter attacks and clearances were the only ways in which they’d get any kind of chance.

Still, knowing that and accomplishing it are two different things. All the enthusiasm from the arrival of Filippo Inzaghi to the sidelines and being the head coach of his former club (also played for Juventus) wasn’t enough against a clearly better team.

After long minutes of trying to create something inside the Milan box, something of a 1-2 between Tevez and Pogba broke the deadlock in the 71st minute, with Tevez slipping past the broken offside trap as Pogba chipped the ball into the box, with the Argentine scoring his fourth goal of the season.

Juventus are perfect with three wins and not conceding a single goal. Milan all of a sudden aren’t that exciting, but deep down, they probably knew they’re not championship contenders. Not yet, and have some improving to do before they can stand toe to toe against a team coming off winning three consecutive league titles.
