For the first time this season, Chelsea didn’t win a match, drawing against 10 men in their visit to Manchester City. Southampton, with a win away at Swansea, climb to the second spot while Burnley, Newcastle and Sunderland keep searching for their first win this season. Both Liverpool and Manchester United keep sliding down the table.
QPR 2 Stoke 2: A successful visit for Mark Hughes to Loftus road where there isn’t much love for him. Mame Biram Diouf scored first for the visitors before Peter Crouch tired out for own goal scoring competitions. He repaid his team by putting Stoke back in the lead early in the second half, but a brilliant Niko Kranjcar free kick, probably the only thing he does well, made it a 2-2 draw in the end.
Aston Villa 0 Arsenal 3: Sometimes four minutes of inspiration is all a team needs, especially when things aren’t going that well. Arsenal remain undefeated and win for only the second time this season, scoring three goals between the 32nd and 36th minute from the legs of Mesut Ozil, Danny Welbeck and an own goal by Aly Cissokho.
Burnley 0 Sunderland 0: The bottom line from this? Burnley are still win-less in the Premier League this season and the same goes for Sunderland, who have lost just one match so far.
Newcastle 2 Hull City 2: The pressure on Alan Pardew increases with Newcastle failing to win since the beginning of the season. Nikica Jelavic and Mohamed Diame put the Tigers in front in what seemed to be the last straw for the struggling manager, but Papiss Cisse scored a late brace to keep things interesting and a point at St. James’ Park.
Swansea 0 Southampton 1: A bad match of football and in the end, Southampton find themselves at second place while Swansea lose for the second straight week, conceding a late goal from Victor Wanyama.
West Ham 3 Liverpool 1: Once again, it seems like physical and aggressive football is too much for Liverpool, as West Ham took a quick two-goal lead in the span of seven minutes from Winston Reid and Diafra Sakho. Raheem Sterling pegged one back for Liverpool in the first half but Morgan Amalfitano finished the job late in the match on a counter attack.
Leicester 5 Manchester United 3: Maybe the craziest match we’ll see this season. Manchester United led in the 16th minute by two goals from Robin van Persie and Angel di Maria, but soon conceded from Jose Ulloa. The second half began in the same way with a goal from Ander Herrera, but then the blitz began. David Nungent scored from the penalty spot after a Vardy dive, Cambiasso scored to equalize, Vardy put Leicester in the lead and Ulloa scored another from the penalty spot while Blackett was sent off.
Tottenham 0 West Brom 1: A second loss at home for Spurs, giving in to a James Morrison goal in the 74th minute while they themselves struggled to create substantial chances throughout the match.
Everton 2 Crystal Palace 3: Somehow Everton let this slip away from them, sliding to 14th in the table. Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring but Crystal Palace countered with three goals by Mile Jedinak, Frazier Campbell and Yannick Bolasie. Leighton Baines scored a late penalty that didn’t change anything.
Manchester City 1 Chelsea 1: Frank Lampard scored a late equalizer against his former team, as Chelsea took a late lead through Andre Schurrle after Pablo Zabaleta was sent off. Prior to that it was mostly parking the bus.
