These days, if you want to succeed, just slap the Game of Thrones label on whatever it is you’re making and you’ll know that attention is guaranteed. This rule applies for the Brutal Ballet company, taking on an alternative take for the medieval fantasy epic, performing their dance to the sound of heavy metal.
Birdie Mayfield is behind the idea of having ballet dancing to the sound of metal. The company began in Australia but has since moved on to the UK with a new cast of performers. They made their debut at TitanCon in Belfast, a Sci-Fi / Fantasy convention in Northern Ireland.
They debuted their Game of Thrones inspired piece there, with Eugene Simon (Lancel Lannister) and Kerry Ingram (Shireen Baratheon) in attendance, allegedly.
