The best team in the NFL right now, the Cincinnati Bengals, had a bye week. So did the Seahawks and Broncos, while the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens belong in that elite list for now, while the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders both look like the two worst teams, deserving the bottom of the power rankings.

1. Cincinnati Bengals (3-0): Didn’t play, but are one of the only two undefeated teams left, and have a chance to put the New England Patriots in panic mode in their next game.

2. San Diego Chargers (3-1): They fell behind early against the Jags, but it helps that Philip Rivers has been the best quarterback in the league over the first four weeks.

3. Seattle Seahawks (2-1): A home game against the red hot Dallas Cowboys should be a chance to prove just how good the Seahawks really are, although their real tests come on the road later on.

4. Denver Broncos (2-1): The bye week was a very good opportunity to prepare for the undefeated Cardinals, a team that allegedly are impossible to run against.

5. Baltimore Ravens (3-1): We’re still not completely sold on the Ravens, but the last two wins have been very convincing, including the budding relationship between Flacco and Steve Smith.

6. Arizona Cardinals (3-0): Undefeated, but have yet to put on a convincing performance on offense this season, which usually means the magic will run out at some point.

7. Detroit Lions (3-1): Against Geno Smith, even a bad day from Calvin Johnson doesn’t stop the Lions from winning.

8. Dallas Cowboys (3-1): With a 38-17 win over the Cowboys, we once again saw what taking the pressure away from Romo, bringing it to DeMarco Murray instead, does: Wonders.

9. San Francisco 49ers (2-2): One of the weird things about Colin Kaepernick? He’s sometimes better when the pocket collapses around him than being a straight shooter.

10. Philadelphia Eagles (3-1): A five-point loss in San Francisco isn’t that bad. Running just one play in their opponent’s half and not scoring a single offensive point is.

11. Houston Texans (3-1): Ryan Fitzpatrick is a mistake waiting to happen (two more interceptions), but J.J. Watt has been more than just the best defensive player this season: He has been the best player in the NFL through four games with another defensive touchdown.

12. Indianapolis Colts (2-2): Unleashing Andrew Luck wasn’t a bad idea, but wins over the Jags and Titans don’t exactly scream powerhouse team.

13. Green Bay Packers (2-2): Against teams that don’t put pressure on Rodgers, the best quarterback in the NFL has a chance to make Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb look great. The Packers still can’t stop the run though.

14. Kansas City Chiefs (2-2): With Jamaal Charles, they are once again looking like the Chiefs Andy Reid had in 2013.

15. New York Giants (2-2): A drubbing of the Washington Redskins was another example of the Giants improved team this season, forcing six turnovers on their opponents.

16. Chicago Bears (2-2): Jay Cutler turns into a different person when he sees the green and yellow. A bad, mistake prone quarterback, not getting any help from a mostly terrible defense.

17. New England Patriots (2-2): Another game with less than 300 yards of total offense from Brady and co. Truly the beginning of the end?

18. Carolina Panthers (2-2): Ron Rivera says Newton will be himself soon, but in the meantime everything else looks really bad in two bad losses against NFC North teams.

19. Minnesota Vikings (2-2): If Teddy Bridgewater’s ankle is fine, we’ll get a chance to see if he can torch teams that aren’t the Falcons and their abysmal defense.

20. Atlanta Falcons (2-2): A great offense, but only when playing at home is it enough. They’re giving up over 430 yards of offense per game so far.

21. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2): Once again, the offense collapsed in the second half, which will happen when Ben Roethlisberger (sacked five times) gets 0 protection.

22. Buffalo Bills (2-2): There’s talent at this team in a lot of positions. Just not the quarterback one, as Manuel gets benched for Kyle Orton, which says a lot, but nothing good.

23. Miami Dolphins (2-2): Winning convincingly against the Raiders (38-14 in London) only means you’re not in the bottom of the NFL.

24. Cleveland Browns (1-2): Had a bye week, and so far have been the most drama-absorbing team in the league, with three games all ending on a margin of three points or less.

25. New Orleans Saints (1-3): A 17-38 loss in Dallas that forces the Saints to take a good, long, hard look at themselves and especially at their leaky defense.

26. New York Jets (1-3): The calls to let Michael Vick play are getting louder.

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3): Even very bad teams have good days from time to time. Mike Glennon has done enough to earn the starting job.

28. Tennessee Titans (1-3): With every game that goes by, the Titans look worse than before.

29. Washington Redskins (1-3): Kirk Cousins isn’t the second coming, as shown by his four interceptions in the 14-45 loss to the Giants at home.

30. St. Louis Rams (1-2): Austin Davis isn’t a bad quarterback, and having a pass-rush and front seven that’s among the best in the league will keep them above the pathetic line.

31. Oakland Raiders (0-4): Their first 0-4 start since 2006. That season ended at a 2-14 record.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4): Might this be the season with two 0-16 teams? It certainly feels that way right now.
