Match Highlights – Crystal Palace vs Chelsea, Arsenal vs Hull City

Chelsea beat Crystal Palace

The top of the Premier League becomes a distant dream for Arsenal after a dramatic home draw against Hull City (2-2), while Chelsea overcome some tough conditions against Crystal Palace to walk away with a 2-1 win, keeping a five point distance at the top of the table, with only two points dropped so far.

Chelsea took the lead on their visit to a different part of London thanks to a beautiful free kick from Oscar, without really creating a lot of pressure, playing with Loic Remy up front and not Diego Costa.

Despite having Cesar Azpilicueta sent off, Chelsea didn’t lose their head, and Crystal Palace lost a player themselves to two quick yellow cards. Cesc Fabregas, usually the set up man this season, scored the second goal in the second half after some brilliant passing between the players. Frazier Campbell scored in the 90th minute a meaningless goal.

As for Arsenal, nothing changes. Attractive and fun to watch at times, but too soft, and making it too easy for physical teams to get their way with them.

Alexis Sanchez gave Arsenal the lead, but Hull turned things around in the 17th minute through Mohamed Diame and then in the 46th minute with a goal from Abel Hernandez.

From there it became one long period of pressure from Arsenal, growing as time went by. They got six minutes of added time to find their equalizer, scoring quickly in that timeframe (Danny Welbeck) to make it a very interesting finish, but despite their presence inside the Hull box, an excellent day for Steve Harper meant Arsenal are now 9th, 12 points away from the top spot.
