Teams are already clinching spots in the next round, but the big news from the second night of Gameweek 4 in the Champions League was Lionel Messi matching Raul as the greatest scorer in the history of the competition with a brace for Barcelona against Ajax. Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Porto, along with Barca are assured in the round of 16.
Group E
Bayern Munich 2 Roma 0: Not a surprise, but Roma didn’t fall apart like in the first encounter. Two beautiful build ups led to goals from Franck Ribery and Mario Gotze.
Manchester City 1 CSKA Moscow 2: Once again Manchester City fail to win a Champions League match. They opened their scoring with a beautiful Yaya Toure free kick, but conceded twice (2nd minute, 34th) from Seydou Doumbia. Fernandinho and Yaya Toure were sent off in the second half.

Ajax 0 Barcelona 2: Ajax get screwed by officials once again with one Jordi Alba and another hand ball by the left back should have led to penalty kicks. Lionel Messi scored twice to match Raul’s 71 goals in the competition. Joel Veltman was sent off in the second half.
PSG 1 APOEL 0: A first minute goal from Edinson Cavani was all it took for PSG to remain on top of the group’s table.

Group G
Maribor 1 Chelsea 1: A stunning result in Slovenia that probably won’t matter much in the end, as Agim Ibraimi opened the scoring with a great curler, followed by an equalizer from Nemanja Matic in the 73rd minute.
Sporting 4 Schalke 2: A huge win for Sporting, shaking up things in the group. Slimani scored an own goal to put the visitors in the lead early on, Sarr equalized, Cafe and Nani made it a definite win. Dennis Aogo scored a late goal to give Schalke some hope, but Slimani, this time scoring in the right direction, made sure there wasn’t any late upset.

Athletic Bilbao 0 Porto 2: Another terrible performance from the Basque team, with Yacine Brahimi and Jackson Martinez scoring goals from close range.
Shakthar 5 BATE 0: Shakhtar would love to play BATE each week after their two demolitions against the Belorussians. Luiz Adrian scored a hat trick (Eight goals against them), Srna and Alex Teixeira scored as well.
