The status quo at the top of the Spanish La Liga continues, as Real Madrid destroy Rayo in a small Madrid derby 5-1 with Cristiano Ronaldo finding the net once again, while earlier Barcelona barely made it past Almeria, coming back from behind to win 2-1 thanks to Luis Suarez.
Suarez didn’t start, but the Uruguayan striker came off the bench to save the day with two assists after Barcelona went down in the 37th minute to a Thievy Bifouma goal.
Suarez set up Neymar for an easy goal in the 73rd minute and then Jordi Alba in the 82nd minute, making it very easy and from close range for the both of them, ending the two match losing streak.
Real Madrid took the lead early in their home game against Rayo as Gareth Bale put himself on the scoresheet nine minutes from the start off of a Toni Kroos assist. A corner kick in the 40th minute led to Sergio Ramos giving Real a two goal lead, but things got interesting four minutes later following a goal by Alberto Bueno.
Real Madrid didn’t wait for too long in the second half before the goals came back: Toni Kroos with a long range goal in the 55th minute and Karim Benzema in the 59th minute, as Cristiano Ronaldo set up both goals as if to answer the critics about him making others better. Ronaldo himself got on the scoresheet, probably the beginning of another streak, making it 5-1 in the 83rd minute, bringing Real Madrid back to the top of the table.
