Champions League – Week 5 Results & Standings (Groups E – H)

Sergio Aguero

The big stars of the day are both from Argentina. A hat trick from Lionel Messi helped Barcelona win against APOEL Nicosia, while he became the top scorer in the history of the Champions League. Sergio Aguero also scored three times, helping Manchester City turn the tables on Bayern Munich and keep their hopes of qualifying alive.

Group E

CSKA Moscow 1  Roma 1: A late equalizer from Vasili Berezutski kept CSKA in the running to qualify for second place, following a fantastic free kick from Francesco Totti.

Manchester City 2  Bayern Munich 3: Exactly the result Manchester City needed, coming from behind to win in the 91st minute. Sergio Aguero scored the opener, but goals from Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowski turned it around before half time. A terrible mistake from Alonso allowed Aguero to equalize, and he scored the winner through another breakdown of the Bayern defense.
