College Football – Week 14 Scores & Standings

College Football – Week 14 Scores & Standings

Alabama Crimson Tide

A busy weekend of rivalries and title deciding games. The most important of them? Alabama beating Auburn to win the SEC West, which means they’ll play Missouri in the conference title game. Wisconsin will go on to play Ohio State thanks to a win over Minnesota, Arizona of all teams get to face Oregon in the Pac-12 while the Big 12 will need one more week to decide who it is that gets a chance to play for the national championship. Maybe it won’t be anyone.

#15 Auburn 44  #1 Alabama 55: The SEC West and the Iron Bowl go to Alabama, who were trailing by 12 points early in the third quarter, but a huge performance from Amari Cooper sealed the division title and a spot in the conference championship game, where they’ll be huge favorites.

#2 Oregon 47  Oregon State 19: No problem from the Beavers as Marcus Mariota cemented his Heisman trophy not to mention got proper preparation for the Pac-12 title game.

Florida 19  #3 Florida State 24: Will Muschamp said his goodbye to the Gators by showing how bad the Seminoles are in the first half of games once again. Jameis Winston was once again terrible, but it really didn’t matter.

#4 Mississippi State 17  #19 Ole Miss 31: Quite a happy way for the Rebels to finish the season – ruining Mississippi State’s chances of playing for the conference title, and knocking them out of the playoff picture.

#5 TCU 48  Texas 10: The Horned Frogs stay on course to co-win the conference, getting a lot more style points than Baylor did in their victory.

Michigan 28  #6 Ohio State 42: J.T. Barrett is out for the season, so the Buckeyes aren’t as happy as one might expect.

#7 Baylor 48  Texas Tech 46: If style points matter at this point of the season and margin of victory is anything to go by, Baylor didn’t do themselves any favors by letting the Red Raiders get very close in the end.

Stanford 31  #8 UCLA 10: All UCLA had to do was win their final game of the season and face Oregon in the championship game, but a terrible performance in the second half while Kevin Hogan did what he usually does in the Rose Bowl ended the Bruins’ season with disappointment.

#16 Georgia Tech 30  #9 Georgia 24: The most dramatic game of the day, although it didn’t really matter for the Bulldogs, losing for the first time since 2008 in their rivalry game of clean old fashioned hate. Georgia Tech scored a field goal in the dying seconds to tie the game and then a touchdown in overtime to claim a historic victory.

#10 Michigan State 34  Penn State 10: A good season for the Spartans (10-2), but their big win over Penn State can just improve their bowl bid, nothing more.

#13 Arizona State 35  #11 Arizona 42: Taylor Kelly stayed in the game for too long, not giving Arizona State the proper chance his backup did. Arizona are going to the Pac-12 title game, with a chance to win the conference for the first time since 1993.

Kansas 13  #12 Kansas State 52: The Wildcats leave themselves a chance to win the Big 12 conference by routing their rivals for a sixth consecutive time.

#18 Minnesota 24  #13 Wisconsin 34: Playing for the right to play Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game, the Wisconsin running game was once again a bit too much for anyone standing in their way.

Arkansas 14  #17 Missouri 21: The Tigers had a very slow start, but did enough in the second half to clinch a second consecutive spot in the conference title game.

South Carolina 17  #21 Clemson 31: Clemson win against South Carolina for the first time since 2008, keeping a perfect 7-0 record at home this season.

Kentucky 40  #22 Louisville 44: Another drama filled game of rivalry went to the favorites, barely squeaking by thanks to a game winning touchdown with 2:47 left in the game.

Utah State 19  #23 Boise State 50: An impressive win for Boise State, maybe the best of the G5 teams, finishing another season with 10 or more wins.

Western Kentucky 67  #24 Marshall 66: There goes the undefeated season; posting the scoreline of a college basketball game.

#25 Utah 38  Colorado 34: They trailed for almost the entire game, but the Utes walked away feeling happy about their regular season thanks to a massive comeback in the second half.
