Match Highlights – Leicester vs Liverpool, Manchester United vs Stoke

Manchester United beat Stoke

The struggles of Liverpool seem to be disappearing with a second consecutive win, beating Leicester 3-1 despite falling behind early. Manchester United picked up another win, beating Stoke 2-1.

For Liverpool, this wins means finding themselves back in the top half of the table and only five points behind fourth place, which is still their goal this season. Leicester scored first through an unlucky own goal, hitting the back of goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. While the home side were just as dangerous as the visitors, they weren’t nearly as clinical.

Liverpool got back in the match very quickly with Adam Lallana scoring the equalizer. Liverpool looked like the more likely side to score from that moment until Steven Gerrard had a rare moment of scoring not by set piece, making the most of a poor clearance.

Leicester had a man sent off after a foul by West Morgan prevented a one on one situation for Rickie Lambert. That didn’t stop Liverpool from scoring more goals as Raheem Sterling, the team’s number one player, set up Jordan Henderson for the third and clinching goal.

Manchester United keep their rapid pace of picking up points going. They didn’t play all that well, but were the far more dangerous team in a home win that brings them a lot closer to more than a fourth place team.

Marouane Fellaini continues his resurgence over the last six weeks under Louis van Gaal, scoring with his head. The second goal seemed like a header as well, but it was actually a Juan Mata cross no one touched. N’Zonzi equalized in the first half in the few moments of pressure Stoke could muster in a poor performance from them, not looking like a side looking to get more than a point from Old Trafford.
