While Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo do get to have the upper hand in a Clasico now and then, it’s mostly been a Barcelona dominated affair for a number of years, and the first one in 2015 was no different, despite Lionel Messi relying on Luis Suarez to score the winning goal.
The fact that Cristiano Ronaldo scored didn’t make it a good performance for him. Real Madrid played well for maybe 20 minutes, but seemed to sink into sulking, depression and shock once Suarez scored the goal that gave Barcelona the lead in the 56th minute.
Messi? He didn’t really do much for the first hour or so, but later on found more and more space near the penalty box, and if it wasn’t for Iker Casillas making a few saves, Barcelona could have had a very memorable result.
Not everything was well for Barcelona – Javier Mascherano was booked for simulation, copying Ronaldo who was booked for diving. Neymar was selfish all match long, bu the bottom line? Barcelona lead the league by four points, and that’s the most important thing.
