The 105-103 loss to the Orlando Magic isn’t exactly beneficial to the Chicago Bulls and maybe even costing them home court advantage, but Derrick Rose coming back to play for the first time in almost two months was a lot more important.
After a slight meniscus tear Rose spent 19 minutes on the floor, scoring 9 points while shooting 3-of-9 from the field as the Bulls blew promising fourth quarter lead to lose against a team that has nothing to play for. With all the tanking going on in this league, it’s nice to see the Magic players playing to win, and their front office not gambling on lucky lottery picks, instead doing things with some thinking and player development in mind.
I felt all right. I think it was about right. It’ll get better the more I play, but I’m getting better every week. It’ll take some time, but I’ll get there. The shots I put up, I thought they were good shots before I shot it. I’m more concerned with us losing more than anything.
But the Bulls still lost, and Rose wasn’t playing late in the game. Yes, he’s rusty, but maybe it what cost the Bulls the win.
Very hard to watch from the side. At the same time, it’s all about patience. I’m going to have my turn. Right now while I’m not playing, I’m just trying to learning a little more and seeing how they’re playing. The only thing I can do is just sit back and watch and learn.
With the loss, the Bulls fall to fourth in the East (46-32), which puts them five games behind the unreachable Cleveland Cavaliers and level in wins with the Raptors who have the tiebreaker advantage, currently at third. The Bulls have a one game edge of the Washington Wizards at fifth, but right now it seems like we’re going to get a replay of the first round playoff series from last season which the Wizards won.
