An exciting day of football in Group A which resulted in 11 goals, as Chile and Mexico ended their affair in a 3-3 draw which mostly complicates things for Mexico, while Bolivia stunned Ecuador with a 3-2 win which most likely will put them in the quarterfinals.
Chile 3 Mexico 3: The kind of match people like to imagine when speaking about the Copa America. Wild football, a lot of motivation to attack and most importantly, plenty of goals. Matias Vuoso opened the scoring for Mexico in the 21st minute and also closed it with a goal in the 66th minute. In between, Chile got a brace from Arturo Vidal (one to equalize, one to take a 3-2 lead) and another goal from Eduardo Vargas. Raul Jimenez also scored for Mexico.
Ecuador 2 Bolivia 3: Any time Bolivia win a match outside La Paz it’s a huge surprise. In a demonstration of bad defending from both teams, Bolivia took a stunning 3-0 lead at half time after goals from Ronald Raldes, Martin Smedberg-Dalence and Marcelo Moreno. Ecuador bounced back with goals from Enner Valencia and Miller Bolaños, but their comeback effort fell short and started too late.
