NBA Rumors – Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings Interested in Signing Rodney Stuckey

After one rather successful season with the Indiana Pacers, playing well both as a starter and a reserve, Rodney Stuckey might end up re-signing with the team, but he will also be getting offers from others teams, including the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings.

Stuckey averaged 12.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 26.4 minutes per game, helping the Pacers almost make the playoffs despite losing Lance Stephenson and missing Paul George for almost the entire season. He had plenty of opportunities to handle the ball, something he lost a bit during his final years with the Pistons, pushing towards more of a shooting guard role.

Stuckey, despite outside interest in him, might end up staying with the Pacers. There’s mutual interest between the sides, but it’s also been said that Stuckey is interested in playing for a contender, tired of missing playoff basketball. He hasn’t been in the postseason since 2009, when he was a young up and comer with the Pistons.

If contending is the main concern, than the Houston Rockets might be his best option. The Kings could offer him a bigger role and are in the search for a point guard, preferably a combo guard like Stuckey. The Pacers should do better than they did last season, but maybe Stuckey has his eyes on bigger goals than what the Pacers can offer him.
